A dryer vent has to be designed, not improvised after the drywall goes up. Code limits total developed length, counts every elbow against that length, requires smooth rigid duct in concealed spaces, and requires a termination with a working backdraft damper and no screen. Miss any of those and the vent will underperform from day one — or fail inspection.
We plan the route first: shortest practical path, fewest elbows, proper support, and a termination location that won't dump humid air under a soffit or against a neighboring wall. Then we install rigid galvanized duct with correct-radius elbows, seal every joint outside the airway, connect the dryer with a listed transition hose, and only add a booster fan when the run genuinely requires one.
